A summary of my findings on the Mary Soltis case

I am a detective. I need to move on to my other cases.

I must say that I have hardly ever seen a case where someone treated another person so badly. There is no doubt in my mind that Mary Soltis is an "out and out jerk". The popular term for this is "asshole". She has deliberately abused the trust placed in her by her students. She has used emails which have absolutely nothing to do with anything as a reason for expelling a student.

I composed and posted a short summary of my findings to the same reddit forums where I have been having so many discussions. Here it is below.

Here is a summary of all the points made here and on other subreddits:

1. After due consideration, I am led to conclude that Mary Soltis acted in a way that merits the term "asshole", "out-and-out jerk" and more. Although I am aware that the use of the term constitutes the use of a profanity, I do not believe that using a term such as "jerk" does what she did justice.
2. There is literally no chance that Mary Soltis did not act like an asshole. I have, by now, looked into virtually every other possibility. Redditors have come up with a range of alternative explanations as well as a range of alternative ways to communicate this. While I agree that my use of the profanity "asshole" may not be to everyone's liking, the other term "out-and-out jerk" should be an acceptable one to all.
3. I am a professional detective but I am not posting this as a professional detective. I am posting this because I came to know this story and I was just so shocked.
4. I have been told that there is really nothing wrong with my posts. Other than my use of a fairly commonly used profanity, a few things people on this and other forum have said or suggested:

• What Mary Soltis constitutes not just a sin but a grave sin.

• A sin against anyone is a sin - no matter whether they are Muslim, Christian, Hindu or Buddhist.

• This is the sort of sin that Catholics are saying would damn Mary Soltis to hell.

What Mary Soltis did is totally abominable, totally haraam - and this is what most Muslims would say. (Yes, I did block u/TheSocialABALady, but that is only temporary. I wouldn't be surprised if she and I saw eye to eye on a number of things.)

There are thousands of people on these forums. There is virtually no chance that my findings are incorrect. Again, I have argued this case successfully in front of an audience that numbers not in the hundreds but in the thousands.

I hope I will be able to move to my other cases. However, if people question my findings as a detective, then I will be forced to come back. I don't care. I am prepared to come back and defend my findings. Just keep in mind that unless you have something extraordinary by way of evidence, or some new piece of material of evidentiary nature that is truly earth shattering, nothing can change this finding.

This is an open-and-shut case. The facts of the case could not be plainer. This does not require a Hercule Poirot or a Sherlock Holmes. This is a fairly straightforward case.

Another point on haraam

Here is another point on "haraam".

If you think that what you did is perfectly okay, why would you NOT engage with people asking you to explain your behavior? There is no reason. Now, here is someone engaging with Mary Soltis as a Muslim asking for an explanation of your behavior just as a good human being and Mary Soltis refuses to engage.

We have sent her email. No replies so far.

The point of this blog and the reddit posts was to ask Mary Soltis to explain her behavior. She refuses to engage with us. She ignores our email. What a loser. Ha ha ha.

Is it true that Third (and below) Tier universities have many, many academics who couldn't really make it (e.g. Mary Soltis at Cabrillo College)?

Hear me out before you dismiss what I have to say.

• Professors like Mary Soltis probably have no chance at top places like Harvard (where, incidentally Soltis got her degree. Link to Mary Soltis' bio: https://www.cabrillo.edu/salsa/listing.php?staffId=1640 )
• Mary Soltis tries to f**k up students.she doesn't like. This we know. She is a total asshole about it too, from what I hear. So, is Laurent El Ghaoui at Berkeley from what i hear. Also, Berkeley's Lee Fleming. All assholes.
• Okay, so back to Soltis. Soltis has no way of making tenure at Harvard. So, Mary and people like her - they make their way down the academic ladder, and end up at a CSU or worse. (Cabrillo College is not even at the State University level.) This much seems reasonable.
• Now, Mary Soltis cannot be the only professor at third tier universities who acts like an asshole. So, then my question is: where do all the assholes of academia end up? Most likely, at the Third Tier universities and universities below that. Isn't that a reasonable conclusion to draw?

So, does this mean that Third (and below) Tier universities have academics who couldn't really make it (e.g. Mary Soltis at Cabrillo College) and, perhaps, are also assholes?

What percentage of Community College faculty are actually there because they are assholes? My guess is - not many. Because they would probably find better opportunities in the industry. Then the question is where do asshole faculty end up?

Main question: Mary Soltis tries to fuck up students: maybe this is okay for Christians but not for Muslims. Muslims, isn't what Mary Soltis did "haraam"? Question is based on Islamic theology. Experts on Islamic theology, please chime in.

Update:

Mary Soltis is an asshole. That is why she got kicked down to the Community College level. Now, whether she could make it in a top university or not is not something I am prepared to discuss here. Nothing in her record indicates anything exceptional. But I can start looking through her record if you guys so wish.

American teachers must be pathetic serfs (literally, the lowest level cogs in the metaphorical wheel meant to be repeatedly attacked and smacked down) if they have to put up with stuff like this. I am sure A and B are not the only ones who face this type of a situation. And, believe me, I have seen a lot of situations.

This is a system made by white people. For white people. Of the white people.

Do not think that you can somehow be someone of an "inferior race" and subvert the racial hierarchy. You will not succeed. You will fail. Only white people on the top of the hierarchy are allowed. And some blacks. No other race is allowed anywhere close to the top.

My advice to everyone: whatever you do - DO NOT become a teacher in America! And this advice holds whether you are white or black, brown or yellow.

Okay, I didn't give you enough information. I totally get that. I don't fault you for saying what you just said.

This dude B was in this teacher's training program for all of two months.

Oh, wait. Can you hear Hillary Clinton cackling? This is a signature Hillary Clinton-type move. Mary Soltis is smart enough not to do anything for which she can be fingered. This is exactly that type of a dick move.

This dude was in the program for less than two months. How much harm could he have possibly caused? Wouldn't it have been more appropriate to have at least given him a warning? And what about her feeling threatened about the other guy?

And then, they fault him for his emails. Nothing wrong with the emails. It is just that Soltis picks up particular phrases and then throw Title IX/sexual harassment at him. Have you seen anything more pathetic?

Also, one person I can understand. But *two* people? Makes no sense. Unless you think that these dudes have been rampaging through campus raping every student they could find. Racism is also involved. Sexual harassment charges are often against people of "inferior races". Let us not forget that aspect as well.

I don't know much about America. But I can tell you a few things.

• This is the most disgusting thing I have ever heard about American academia, as a whole. 
• This is one of the most disgusting Department of Education academia things I have ever heard.
• This is one of the most disgusting Teacher horror stories I have ever heard of someone who actually tried to be a teacher and was foiled.
• This is one of the most disgusting Low-Paid-Lackey stories that I have literally ever heard in my life. And teachers in America are Low Paid Lackeys. Other Low Paid Lackeys: janitors, cab drivers, waiters.

Is Mary Soltis (Cabrillo College, California) a disgusting human being for unleashing Title IX?

Word is that Mary Soltis who is a professor at Cabrillo College did the following:

• There was an older gentleman (call him A) in one of her classes who had 10+ years of industry experience
• Also, there was an exceptionally bright middle-aged student (call him B) in her class. This guy had unpublished papers in Linguistics. He was a student not quite as old as A, but older than the average student in the program (who was fresh out of undergrad).
• Mary Soltis felt threatened by both. Mary Soltis told B that either he would have to work for her (and basically get co-authorship on all his papers) or else, she vaguely threatened consequences.
• Then, when the guy B did not cooperate with her fast enough, she basically did a "Title IX" accusation on him.
• Somehow, A also got kicked out. We don't know if Mary Soltis had anything to do with it, but given that she seemed to feel threatened by B and the way she looked at A makes one feel that maybe A also got kicked out for the same reason: Mary Soltis' jealousy, Mary Soltis' arrogance and mary Soltis' feeling threatened.

Is Mary Soltis (Cabrillo College, California) a disgusting human being for unleashing Title IX? Or is this par for the course in America? Asking because even lawyers sometimes have better morals than this in my country.
